We exist for the people who are struggling quietly.
The EmpowerED Initiative
was created for people living with eating disorders and body image struggles that often go unseen, misunderstood, or minimized. While some awareness has grown, meaningful and personal support has not always followed. Too many people are left to navigate recovery alone, especially those who don't fit stereotypes, don't speak up, or don't know where to turn.
We exist to change that.

Our Mission
The EmpowerED Initiative's mission is to provide direct support to overlooked individuals struggling with eating disorders and body dysmorphia through tangible resources, personal connection, and carefully structured volunteer action. We...

...have our own hotline forum where trained volunteers respond to messages sent by individuals struggling with EDs and other body image issues, and a digital recovery library filled with volunteer-curated pieces to show others they are not alone and help educate people about eating disorders
...partner with hospitals/clinics and deliver volunteer-assembled care packages filled with letters, gifts, art, and more to patients hospitalized for eating disorders

...partner with schools, community centers, and other organizations to make special collaborative projects, donate resources, and share our story.
...launch online campaigns and movements on apps such as TikTok and Instagram in partnership with our own TEI ambassadors, social media influencers who use their platform to honestly and positively spread ED&BDD awareness.

Why This Matters:
Eating disorders and body dysmorphia affect millions of people, yet many are never taught enough about them in school, never diagnosed, or never taken seriously. These struggles don't always look the way people expect. They don't always come with visible signs, and they definitely don't always receive timely care. TEI was built around the belief that support should not depend on visibility or severity. If someone is hurting, they deserve care—full stop.
