Hotline Forum Volunteer
What you’ll do:
Respond to anonymous posts submitted by individuals struggling with eating disorders or body image. Your role is to provide thoughtful, non-judgmental support and validate their experiences through written replies. You’ll be trained on tone, ethics, and boundaries using our volunteer guide.
Why it matters:
This forum offers a rare space where people can open up without fear of being dismissed. Volunteers help ensure every submission is met with compassion and care.

Recovery Library Volunteer
What you’ll do:
Submit written pieces (personal or others' stories, poetry, reflections, or resource roundups) that support recovery and identity rebuilding. Submissions can be one-time or ongoing. Anonymous and non-anonymous entries are both welcome.
Why it matters:
The Recovery Library offers tangible, human insight into what healing looks like from the inside. It’s a space for honest storytelling that encourages readers to keep going.

Hospital Campaign Volunteer
Please note that this volunteer role is part of our Chapter Program and you must be part of your local EmpowerED Chapter (or start one yourself!) in order to have this role.
What you’ll do:
Write letters, design affirmation cards, or help collect and assemble care kits to be delivered to eating disorder treatment centers. Volunteers participate as part of a coordinated local effort.
Why it matters:
Many patients in inpatient or residential care never receive outside mail or support. These small items, when thoughtfully made, can have a lasting emotional impact.
Special Projects Volunteer
Please note that this volunteer role is part of our Chapter Program and you must be part of your local EmpowerED Chapter (or start one yourself!) in order to have this role.
What you’ll do:
Distribute resources, make our Special Projects (e.g. Mirror Messages), fundraise for supplies, and more!
Why it matters:
Many people don't realize how many individuals in their own community or school are affected by body image or disordered eating habits. Having these accessible and encouraging resources can help simply brighten someone's day or inspire a change.
