Chapters
Meet our EmpowerED Chapters and learn about how you can become a founder!
What Are Chapters?
An EmpowerED Chapter is a local team that brings our work into the real world, specifically focusing on students who are athletes. Chapters are how EmpowerED introduces people to our programs that operate online through community/school-organized events and a project called Mirror Messages.
EmpowerED Chapters enable people to lead local initiatives, either as a community-based branch or a school-based club, through the distribution of Mirror Messages and other awareness events. Recovery Library Volunteers and Hotline Forum Volunteers (application here) are remote roles, and individuals applying do not require a chapter to become a volunteer.
Each chapter organizes and participates Mirror Messages campaigns meant to help uplift student athletes who may be struggling and erase any body image negativity that may be active in a space. To learn more, visit our Mirror Messages page linked earlier in this description.
Every chapter is very supported! We help with planning and providing resources and guidance. Those interested in simply volunteering for a Mirror Messages campaign must connect with their regional EmpowerED Chapter if one exists. See our existing chapters using this chapter map!
Start a Chapter
Individuals interested in starting an EmpowerED Chapter must read the Chapter Guidelines and then complete the chapter application form below.
Chapter leads oversee their own initiatives and social media with support from EmpowerED HQ. Forming a chapter board is highly encouraged. Each chapter is required to complete at least one campaign/event every two months and publish one related social media post for every one. More information will be sent out to accepted chapter applicants!
